Aspire Academy NZAges 14–18 | Performance Group


Athletes in our St Johns 14–18 Performance Group recently completed structured performance testing as part of Aspire Academy NZ’s long-term athletic development framework.


At this stage, testing allows us to:


  • Assess acceleration efficiency

  • Evaluate force production and jump power

  • Measure reactive strength

  • Analyse change-of-direction performance

Performance Focus Moving Forward


For this age group, training emphasis will centre on:


  • Refining acceleration mechanics

  • Improving reactive strength and elastic qualities

  • Enhancing braking control and change-of-direction efficiency

  • Translating gym-based strength into sprint and jump performance
