Ponsonby Speed & Agility Testing Results

Aspire Academy NZ

Athletes in our Ponsonby Speed & Agility programs recently completed structured performance testing as part of Aspire Academy NZ’s long-term athlete development framework.

These assessments provide objective insight into how athletes currently:

  • Accelerate and sprint

  • Produce force through jumping

  • Absorb and reapply force (reactive strength)

  • Change direction efficiently

All results shown below represent best recorded performances only. Testing data is used to guide coaching focus and athlete development rather than to compare athletes.

Ages 8–10 | Foundations Group (Ponsonby)

For athletes aged 8–10, testing is used to establish baseline movement competency and confidence. At this stage, the emphasis remains on learning correct movement patterns rather than chasing performance outcomes.

Ages 11–13 | Development Group (Ponsonby)

Athletes aged 11–13 are in a key stage for developing speed, elastic strength, and efficient force application. Testing helps us understand how effectively athletes are transitioning from foundational skills into more powerful and athletic movement.

What Happens Next

Testing is the starting point, not the outcome.

These results will now be used to:

  • Shape weekly training priorities

  • Individualise coaching cues within group sessions

  • Track progress across future testing blocks

If you have any questions about your athlete’s results or would like guidance on next steps within our programs, please contact the Aspire Academy NZ coaching team.
