What we do:

At Aspire Academy NZ, we help youth athletes aged 8–18 unlock their full potential through expert coaching, evidence-based sports science, and a supportive, high-performance environment. Our holistic approach develops the key foundations for success in any sport — speed, agility, strength, power, coordination, injury resilience, nutrition, recovery, and mindset.

We offer a wide range of programs, including:

  • Speed & Agility Programs – Build explosive speed, sharper change of direction, and game-ready movement.

  • Athlete Development Programs – Develop strength, power, mobility, and coordination through age-appropriate training.

  • High Performance Programs – Integrated physical development, sports psychology, nutrition workshops, and recovery protocols.

  • Holiday Clinics – Multi-day training camps blending skill development, performance testing, and fun.

  • 1:1 & Small Group Coaching – Individualised training, performance analysis, and tailored progression plans.

  • Online Coaching & Mentoring – Remote training programs and ongoing athlete support.

Our sessions run across Auckland, with locations in St Johns, Wairau Valley, New Lynn, Birkenhead, Panmure, Pakuranga, and Manurewa, making high-quality athlete development accessible to communities citywide.

 

Whether your child is taking their first steps in sport or preparing for elite-level competition, Aspire Academy NZ provides the training, testing, and guidance they need to excel — both on and off the field.

WHAT IS ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT?

Athlete development is the process of building the physical, mental, and technical foundations athletes need to perform at their best — both now and in the future. It goes beyond sport-specific skills, focusing on core areas such as strength, speed, agility, coordination, mobility, and injury resilience, alongside mental skills like confidence, focus, and resilience. A well-structured athlete development program is age-appropriate, progressive, and holistic, ensuring young athletes develop safe training habits, avoid overuse injuries, and build the capacity to excel in their chosen sport for the long term.

DARCI FINNIGAN - COACH

Nick is an extremely knowledgeable coach who as the ability to evaluate athletes strengths & weaknesses to ensure his programs are tailored to the individual athlete. Nick has worked with some of my basketball athletes and has been able to help them with their foot speed, lateral quickness & explosiveness. Nick is able to connect well with athletes and create a sense of trust which allows Nick & the athletes to get more out of the relationship. I highly recommend Nick to any athletes looking to take their game to the next level!

Our team of coaches is made up of qualified and experienced professionals who specialise in youth development. They are deeply passionate about nurturing young athletes, and many have been athletes themselves, bringing valuable insights from their own sporting journeys. With their dedication and expertise, they are committed to fostering a positive, supportive, and high-performance environment where young people can thrive.
